+ Add Journey

Right now, you're in one of two camps.

  1. You know what Chinese Breakfast is, and you love it.

  2. You don't know what Chinese Breakfast is, and you're going to love it.

Located in the Huasan Market, this hole in the wall delivers the goods in a traditional food stall setting. Wait in line (usually long, but moves quickly), order at the window (peer through and watch the hand made goodness take shape) and find the nearest table to enjoy this local treasure.

But what exactly is a Chinese Breakfast? The absolute must is the SAO BING YOUTIAO, a hand-made, clay oven roll stuffed with egg and fried breadsticks. Other go- tos include the DAN BING (egg cake), FAN TUAN (rice ball), and the HOU SAO BING (thick flatbread) all washed down with SOY MILK (available in sweet and salty).

Pro tip: If you don't speak Mandarin , make sure to memorize or jot these down because the menu is only available in Chinese and the staff does not speak English.

Mmmmm…authentic Chinese Breakfast. A local's love, a visitor's must try.
