5-Spice Fried Chicken

Let’s not pretend, everyone loves fried chicken. Follow these quick and easy to follow steps and you’ll be crunching a fried delight just like Momma used to make. Start to finish in under 15 minutes, we like to double up on the portions to plan on a lot of overeating, it’s that good.
1lb chicken thighs (cut into medium size pieces)
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon cooking wine
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
1 teaspoon 5 spice powder
1/2 tablespoon chopped ginger
1 tablespoon chopped scallions
1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons cornstarch
Add cut chicken into large mixing bowl
Add soy sauce, cooking wine, sugar, 5 spice powder, ginger, scallions, egg yolk, and cornstarch.
For extra crisp (highly recommended), roll each piece in flour.
Heat cooking oil in frying pan at Medium-high heat.
Deep fry until golden brown, remove, and let it rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.
Plate, serve, and prepare yourself for the sounds of oooohhhh and ahhhhhh, enjoy! Nom Nom.
