Tucked away behind vendor stalls and down one of the darkest alleyways in Central HK, Brickhouse could possibly be the happiest place in Hong Kong (and also one of the hardest to find). It’s been around long enough to not be considered flash in the pan and still manages to pull in hordes of locals, expats and visitors alike thanks to its central location, inventive libations, and solid Mexican fare.

Expect a wait of up to two hours at peak times (happy hours, weekends, etc) so you’ll have plenty of time to admire modern murals of older Hispanic elements that adorn the walls. Once you’ve locked down a spot, make your 90 minutes count. Yup, that’s the limit on busy nights so keep the margaritas flowing while you enjoy a long list of favorite dishes. The specialties that get top billing: MEXICAN CORN, BLACK ANGUS BEEF SHORT RIBS, BEET CHIPS and any of their tacos.

Best Mexican you’ve ever had? Maybe not. Best Mexican in Hong Kong? Possibly so…
