Showcasing homegrown Chinese talent by design

Dong Liang provokes, surprises, and charms when it comes to independent Chinese design and fashion.

In search of timeless design, Dong Liang introduces new designers to the Shanghai scene every year and is devoted to exposing the home-grown talent in China. It’s not your typical retail store but rather a truly interactive design studio where the rooms distort conventional perceptions with fresh talent and exciting new design.

Located on Fumin Lu, the journey begins when you find the little house adorned by Dong Liang’s signature crow and ring the doorbell. The studio has three floors to explore with each room showcasing a different theme and designer (all hailing from China). The products range from everyday wear to eye-catching evening wear and also include a wide variety of accessories to help you build your style one piece at a time. Collections skew heavily toward ladies fashions with the occasional menswear or unisex offering.

Gentlemen, be warned: The general pricing increases as you ascend the staircase, so this is one place your lady friend will not hesitate to take the stairs.
