BBQ Pork Ribs that Momma used to make, that is if your mom is an insane homestyle cook. Quick and easy steps to make a traditional homestyle dish that’ll make your guests want to come back for more. Follow these instructions and enjoy.



  • 2 lbs of Pork Ribs

  • 1 Tablespoon of cooking wine

  • 2 Tablespoons of soy sauce

  • 3 Tablespoons of sugar

  • 4 Tablespoons of rice vinegar

  • 5 Tablespoons of water

  • 2 star anise

  • 1 chopped scallion

  • 5 pieces of thinly sliced ginger



Step 1:

  • Put ribs in a pot of cold water, bring to boil.

  • Remove foam, then add scallion, ginger, and star amise.

  • Lower heat and simmer for 50 minutes.

Step 2:

  • Drain cooked ribs.

  • Place cooking wine, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar and water in bowl, mix well.

  • Heat oil in frying pan, stir fry ribs in medium heat until golden brown.

  • Pour sauce mixture over ribs, bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

  • Raise heat to reduce sauce, thicken with cornstarch mixture (1 tablespoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon of water, mix well) to finish.
