Less than 5 Easy steps to make a traditional Taiwanese homestyle dish. Follow these instructions and enjoy with friends.

Ingredients:

  • ½ lb of ground pork

  • 1-2 Lotus Roots

  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of cooking wine

  • 1 teaspoon of oyster sauce

  • ¼ teaspoon of baking soda

  • 2 tablespoons of water

  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch

  • 4 tablespoons chopped lotus root

  • 1 diced chinese sausage

  • 2 tablespoons of chopped scallions

  • 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro

 

Preparation:

Step 1:

  • Add ground pork into large mixing bowl.

  • Chop 2 tablespoons (each) of scallions and cilantro, add to bowl.

  • Chop 4 tablespoons of lotus root, add to bowl.

  • Dice one chinese sausage, add to bowl.

  • Add soy sauce, cooking wine, oyster sauce, baking soda, water, and cornstarch.

  • Mix well.

Step 2:

  • Cut lotus root into 15 “rounds” roughly ¼ inch thick.

  • Lightly brush each each “round” with oyster sauce (top side).

  • Stuff each lotus round with a tablespoon of meat mixture.

Step 3:

  • Heat frying pan with oil to medium heat.

  • Add stuffed lotus roots.

  • Pan fry both sides until golden brown.

  • Lightly sprinkle chopped scallions as garnish.
