Taiwanese Pork-Stuffed Lotus Root

Less than 5 Easy steps to make a traditional Taiwanese homestyle dish. Follow these instructions and enjoy with friends.
½ lb of ground pork
1-2 Lotus Roots
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of cooking wine
1 teaspoon of oyster sauce
¼ teaspoon of baking soda
2 tablespoons of water
1 tablespoon of cornstarch
4 tablespoons chopped lotus root
1 diced chinese sausage
2 tablespoons of chopped scallions
2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro
Step 1:
Add ground pork into large mixing bowl.
Chop 2 tablespoons (each) of scallions and cilantro, add to bowl.
Chop 4 tablespoons of lotus root, add to bowl.
Dice one chinese sausage, add to bowl.
Add soy sauce, cooking wine, oyster sauce, baking soda, water, and cornstarch.
Mix well.
Step 2:
Cut lotus root into 15 “rounds” roughly ¼ inch thick.
Lightly brush each each “round” with oyster sauce (top side).
Stuff each lotus round with a tablespoon of meat mixture.
Step 3:
Heat frying pan with oil to medium heat.
Add stuffed lotus roots.
Pan fry both sides until golden brown.
Lightly sprinkle chopped scallions as garnish.
Plate and Enjoy!
