Located in Oume which is an hour by train from Tokyo, Sawanoi Sake Brewery is the perfect escape from the urban grind. There are ten sake breweries in Tokyo prefecture, but Sawanoi really stands out . More than just the sake brewery tour (which is totally worth it), Sawanoi offers great restaurants, exhibition spaces and the beautiful Seiryu Garden. Three restaurants in the complex range from casual to high-end fare, but all share an affinity for soybean -related dishes like tofu and yuba. Be sure to try the Koshu sake featured in our video - we're no experts, but it's smoother than a wet snooker ball. With that sake buzz, fresh air and views of lush greenery you won't believe you're just an hour from the big city.
