During the peak season of the lunar new year, come join thousands of locals as they descend upon the Wishing Tree to try their luck at setting the right tone for the new year. There are two main banyan trees that appear to bear fruit from the thousands of wishes hanging from each branch. Villagers believe that If you can successfully throw/hang your wish on one of the branches, your wish will come true. Wishes are written on burnt Joss paper and tied to an orange and locals surround each tree to try and pitch the perfect wish for good luck. The Wishing Tree is definitely worth a day trip with some friends, family, or a significant other..it's nice to change the pace, leave the city, and dream a little bigger.
